Disney brings back the nostalgia with their new streaming service Disney+
The highly anticipated Disney+ debuted nov. 12 and in my opinion it did not disappoint. Just like in my movie reviews I will give my review of the streaming service with a plus (get it) or a minus.
Plus- The amount of content available at launch
Disney did not pull any punches when it comes to what you can watch right now on the app. All of the original disney channel movies are available which is incredible by itself. All of the original live action sit-coms you know and love are available not to mention most of their animated shows as well. They have a good portion of the MCU and Star Wars franchises respectively.
Minus-They still have a lot missing
Don’t get me wrong there are tons of content to watch right now on the app. But some of the bigger names are not on there. Missing from the MCU: Black Panther, Thor: Ragnarok, Avengers: Infinity War, Ant-Man and the Wasp. These titles are all currently on Netflix and will be on Disney+ sometime next year. The Last Jedi and Solo are missing from the Star Wars series because they are on Netflix. COCO, Incredibles 2, and Ralph Breaks the internet are all still on Netflix.
Minus-The Interface is sometimes confusing
I actually don’t like the interface at all I think it's really bland. They interface is a very boring black and blue. The movies are in very small squares which is even harder to read on a bigger tv. There is not continue watching tab or at least I have not found one. I think they tried to be so different from Netflix but it just does not work. They just need to make the squares bigger, and the navigation easier.
Plus- The Price
The price for Disney+ is just 7.99 a month or 69.99 for a year. That is a steal! You can’t find that much content for that low price. It probably won’t stay at that price forever but you just can’t beat it right now. You can also have Disney+ up to 4 different devices so you can even share with your family. If you have children this is a must buy.
Overall score 8.5/10
