Culture Shock Review: The Addams Family
Culture Shock Review: The Addams Family: Spooky, Short, and Simple
The Addams Family is a classic film and television that has been around since the 1960s. But this adoption falls short on the great spooky nostalgia that we were all hoping for. I will give my pros and cons of this 2019 adaptation of The Addams Family.
Pro: The Cast
The cast for this film is LOADED with talent, Oscar Issac (Gomez), Charlize Theron (Morticia), Nick Kroll (Uncle Fester) are just some of the great voice acting that is in this movie.
Cons: The Running time
The movie is about 80 minutes of the actual movie which is can be refreshing for parents. But man does this movie feel rushed. I never felt an actual connection to the characters. Once I got to know the characters the movie was over, having me saying to myself “that’s it”.
Pro:The Origin story
I love this part of the movie, it shows who Gomez and Morticia got married. It also shows why they went away from the public eye. This little intro really starts the movie off great, I wish there were more.
Con: The story
The story is so short and very rushed as I mentioned before. It's really bland it had some promise when Wednesday tries to become a regular kid but they rushed through that part as well. Its not alot of things particularly bad about the story I just wish it was more of it.
Final Score:6.5 out of 10
I would definitely take a child to see it, but definitely not anyone older than 12.
