CULTURE SHOCK SPORTS: 3 Reasons Why the NFL Should make the PRO BOWL a mid-season event
The NFL is a long and grueling season with only one off week. The NFL has to do better with keeping their stars healthier. One easy way the NFL can keep them fresh is having the Pro Bowl a mid-season event. Here are three reasons why the Pro-Bowl should make it a mid-season event.
1. Another bye week for the players
The one bye week is a killer for NFL players which has a season from August to January. This another bye week would give them the opportunity to rest for the 2nd half of the season. This would also help an injured player recover for the playoffs.
2. Star Power
In the format we have now the NFL Pro Bowl is held in the week before the super bowl. Usually, a lot of the player who is in the game doesn't get to play because they are playing for a Super Bowl like Tom Brady and Aaron Donald this year. The fans vote and they want to see the stars that they voted in play.
3. The current format is boring
The NBA, MLB, and even NHL all-star games are exciting and mean something. The MLB all-star game is for World Series home-field advantage so its important to win. The NHL all-star game puts players together that you would never see. The NBA All-Star game is an entire weekend celebration that looks like a basketball festival. Not to mention how much revenue the other leagues make from the event. Nobody talks about the pro-bowl because they don't care. They are ready for the Superbowl. This change makes sense for the fans, owners, and most importantly the players!
